why we started

Bunker9 was founded by Raphael and Julie Peck out of pure necessity. After years of working with traditional performance marketing agencies, we became disillusioned with the model — cookie-cutter strategies, lackluster service, and a disturbing absence of real accountability. Despite mounting pressure on profitability, most agencies kept showing us surface-level metrics that looked good on paper but told us nothing about true performance. How many times did we see a glowing report, even when growth had flatlined? How often did we actually sit down face-to-face with our so-called account team? Rarely. 

The reality: rising acquisition costs, declining LTV, and shrinking ROAS — with no clear explanation and no strategic path forward. Their priorities are volume and scale, not your business or your customer. We realized something even more troubling: no one was truly focused on understanding the consumer.

That’s why we created Bunker9: to be the partner we always needed but could never find. Data-smart, brand-focused, and relentlessly aligned with profitable growth.  We work weekends and holidays because that’s when you’re open for business.

    profitable growth.


    Known for his merchant-first approach, Raphael prioritizes the consumer first, then product,
    and finally channel 
    — a methodology that has consistently delivered results across complex, omni-channel environments. His ability to connect consumer insight with strategic execution has been instrumental in building robust growth with small, midsize and large scale brands.


    Raphael’s deep understanding of direct-to-consumer strategies, paired with his experience in leading omni-channel organizations, makes him uniquely positioned to identify what’s next in retail and brand evolution. His high-energy leadership style and relentless drive to win are hallmarks of his approach, inspiring teams and delivering sustained business performance.

    Julie Peck

    CO-FOUNDER

    Julie Peck is a passionate and accomplished merchant leader with deep experience across some of the world’s most influential brands. A consumer-first merchant, Julie began her career at
    Oakley, where she played a pivotal role in expanding the brand into the women's fitness category. She built on that success with a senior buying and demand planning role at Old Navy,
    sharpening her e-commerce expertise.

    Julie then brought her e-commerce and merchandising acumen to The North Face, where she helped pilot the brand’s entry into the women's training market. Most recently, she led buying, store merchandising, and e-commerce at Brixton, rounding out her omnichannel experience.

    A versatile and strategic professional, Julie excels at integrating consumer insights into go-to-market strategies across all channels. Her strengths in strategic calendarization, transparency, and planning consistently drive executional excellence and profitability.
